Opening of Österleden.

3 November will mark the opening of Katrineholm’s eastern bypass. Beyond the central role the bypass will play for traffic travelling into Katrineholm Logistics Centre, it will also connect the district of Laggarhult with the commercial area of Lövåsen. Many Laggarhult residents are therefore looking forward to the opening of the bypass. Traffic from the residential area through the city centre will now be diminished.

Underpass in place under western trunk line

The work on completing the eastern bypass took an important step forward when the railway underpass was lifted into place during the night of 19 July. Services on the trunk line were suspended while the work was being carried out. The complicated procedure was carried out with great success and on Sunday, services on the trunk line reopened. The work on constructing the bypass could then continue as planned.
